I’ve shared many wonderful Valentine Days with my husband but one year does stand out. I won two contests for Valentine dinners so we enjoyed two free evenings out. One was to a steak house and one was to McDonald’s but don’t laugh! They had a special table decorated with a tablecloth and a vase of flowers. We could order anything we wanted and there was a special cake baked by a local baker. The flowers and the cake went home with us!!
Thanks for this very special giveaway.
    Happy Valentine’s Day & Blessings!

I forgot my memory. I think it was when my daughter started first grade and was so excited about their Valentine’s party. However, the day before she got the Chicken Pox and couldn’t go. She was so sad until we found that her friend up the street had the same thing and so they had a party together. It wasn’t the same as the school party but it was a good next choice!

Thanks for the opportunity to win these books! When my husband was still alive, I made a heart shaped meatloaf for dinner on Valentines’ Day. It was silly and we laughed about it. The first year we were married, it was all we could afford. Later, we continued to have it because it brought back sweet memories of those early years when we were ‘poor’ but oh-so rich!

What a lovely giveaway! Perfect for Valentine’s Day! Before I became a church librarian, I taught second grade for quite a few years. Valentine’s Day was always special because the children had so much fun giving each other cards. In fact, in all of my years of teaching, not one child was ever skipped. The love that was spread each Valentine’s Day was real and genuine and always brings back great memories.

What a lovely idea – romantic Amish novels being given away. I have two very good memories for Valentines Day. One is when I was in 6th grade and we had a cake contest and my friends and I won first place with our heart shaped cake. It took team work to get it all together (we had to cut the cake into a heart shape with an arrow on both sides). Second memory is funny – a friend and I finally exchanged Christmas presents on Valentines day. Imagine seeing Christmas wrapped gifts on Valentines day.

I think my most memorable Valentines Day memory was the first after my Daddy passed! He passed on Feb 7! I remember shopping for a card for my
Mama! All the other years it had been a card for my parents! Now it would be for Morher! How difficult that was! I stood In the hallmark store reading cards with tears streaming down my face! Although happy my Daddy was no longer suffering, it was still difficult! Now they Are both in Heaven so no cards to buy! Don’t forget to Share special days with those you love! Those days pass so quickly!

A beautiful memory is of Valentines Day evening, Sunday, 1988. I had reluctantly accepted an invitation from a friend to a special church service. As I was suffering through depression at that time, I was taken aback by the overflowing joy around me from among the congregation. I just thought, I want what they have! The preacher seemed directing his sermon specifically to me! I was moved by my personal need to draw closer to God than I had ever known I could. After explanation, I chose the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
To me it was a spiritual encounter of a lifetime and of which I have never been the same. How precious my loving Valentine memory, 30 years ago this February 14th. ❤

Valentine’s Day has always had a special meaning to me. My parents met on a blind date and were married seven days later ON Valentine’s Day. They were married just shy of 60 years when my Dad went to his heavenly home.

Their love for each other was a true testament of what love is and should be. They showed it every day – to each other and to the world. I can still picture my Mom and Dad holding hands under the little table between their recliners watching TV in the afternoons while they split a can of Coke.

Every year it was a special celebration for their anniversary. On their 50th anniversary, we even took them back to the courthouse to renew their vows and to get copies of their original license. Dad said that the original was good for 50 years so by getting another he would be good forever.

Now that both my parents are gone, we still remember them on their special day as well as hubby and I making our own special memories. This year we are celebrating our first Valentine’s Day in our new home – our dream retirement home in the Ozark Mountains. I think we will spend part of the afternoon holding hands while watching TV and sharing a Coke. <3

When I thought about a favorite Valentine’s memory, I started smiling, remembering what my husband did for me many years ago. We had very little money, so we had decided to get each other just “a little something.” We went out for dinner and enjoyed our time together. I gave him a tee shirt with a bunch of tools on the front with the saying, “So many tools. So little time.” He seemed to get a kick out of it but then he handed me a small, nicely wrapped box. Inside was a very pretty diamond pendant. It wasn’t a large diamond but it was beautiful and continues to mean a lot to me even after all these years.

Valentine memory is of my mom helping me decorate a Valentines Day card box for school. We made it so beautiful and I used it more than one year. Fast forward 30 years, and my son got to use that very same box to hold his Valentines at the school party. Of course, he had to add a few touch ups but the box was still beautiful.

When I was in middle school, Valentine’s Day was a big deal! The office called names between every class, and it meant you had flowers waiting for you in the office. One year, my dad sent me a little vase of roses so my name got called. It was really fun! He passed away in 2016 and we hadn’t spoken in over 20 years. Those Valentine’s Day flowers are a good memory of him.

My favorite Valentine’s day memory… is it bad that I’m drawing a blank? I was a home schooler until my junior year of high school which of course meant I unknowingly missed all the fun Valentine’s day parties and card swaps in elementary. When I finally had a boyfriend he went to a different high school so there were never flowers or balloons for me to drag around school all day. My husband is military and tends to be gone on Valentine’s day and most anniversaries. Man I’m depressing! How about most awkward?

My most awkward Valentine’s day was a week or two after a friend in my youth group asked me to go out with him. I didn’t like him that way, but was to inexperienced to know how to turn him down without hurting his feelings so… we were dating. We were at church awkwardly standing alone in a Sunday school room when he pointed to an unwrapped gift about 20 feet away and said, “That’s your Valentine’s day gift.” I wasn’t sure what to do, but quickly realized he expected me to get it myself. Thankfully after three weeks of awkwardness I finally got up the courage to tell him I didn’t like him that way. I ended up keeping the stuffed gorilla with a plastic heart that no longer have candy in it.

Greetings! My favorite Valentine’s Day memory was making homemade Valentine cards with my five sisters to give to our classmates. We would come up with clever quotes and rhymes to make the cards unique. Red, pink and white scraps of paper would litter the dining room table and floor, stickers would cling to our clothes and glue would be stuck on our fingers. It made a big mess, but we all had fun.

Thanks for the chance to win such a great prize pack. My favorite Valentine’s Day tradition is the lead up to the actual day. Every morning and evening, my husband leaves a card on my pillow. Some are really sweet, and some are really funny. I look forward to these every day. For him to even spend that much time in a card store and buy all these cards means the world to me. We’ll also go out to dinner and exchange gifts. But we really celebrate our love for each other every day.

My favorite Valentine’s memory is from early in my marriage. I was working at a pharmacy at the time and was so tired that day. I thought my husband would want to go out to eat. We live about 20 or more miles from a restaurant, plus, I knew we would have to deal with crowds. I just wasn’t in the mood, but I didn’t want to hurt his feelings, so I already knew I wouldn’t say anything. When I got home it was as if my sweet man had read my mind. He had a fire going and a mattress in front of it. He had bought my favorite movie and had it in the DVD player and had set up a buffet of my favorite Chinese foods in the kitchen. It was a dream come true, and so is my husband.

Thank you for the opportunity to win these books and thank you for sharing your gift of writing.

When I was young (in grade school) I remember making heart cakes with my mom. They didn’t have heart shaped pans back then. (This was back in the 590’s.)y mom got the idea out of my Betty Crocker’s Children’s Cookbook I had gotten for Christmas the year before. She used a square and round cake pan. The, cut the round one in half. We would made several because we gave some out to the neighbors. What fun!
